The University of Pristina/Faculty of Civil Engineering, Master’s Program in Water Resource Management, hosted the Swiss Advisory Commission for International Cooperation. The delegation was warmly welcomed by the Rector of the University of Pristina, Prof. Dr. Arben Hajrullahu, and the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Prof. Ass. Florim Grajçevci, along with representatives from the academic community, students, and other partners. Supported by the Swiss Cooperation Office in Kosovo through the IWRM-K Program, this event underscored the shared progress in advancing expertise in this field and strengthening the partnership between Kosovo and Switzerland in water resource management.
As Rector Hajrullahu emphasized, “This program is helping us shape a new generation of water professionals—a crucial investment with some of the best returns for Kosovo’s future.” The Advisory Commission delegation had the opportunity to experience firsthand the impact of the M.Sc. program in #IWRM, advancements in water resource management, institutional capacity building, and efforts to promote sustainable practices across various sectors. The delegation also observed the investments financed by the IWRM-K Program in the university’s academic infrastructure, including state-of-the-art technological equipment and a modern water laboratory, which contribute to training the next generation of professionals.
The event also highlighted ambitious objectives for Phase 2, which promises even greater transformative support for the University of Pristina and Kosovo’s water resources.
