On October 24, 2024, at the premises of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Prishtina, the Memorandum of Cooperation with WRC Gjakova was signed.
The FCE and WRC Gjakova have expressed their willingness and readiness to collaborate, aiming to further enhance and develop professional capacities and knowledge. The goal of the cooperation between the signing parties is to contribute to improving the relevance and alignment of the higher education sector with market needs, as well as to ensure a positive impact on increasing the efficiency of businesses in the water, engineering, and economic sectors.
The agreement aims to facilitate the exchange of institutional needs, with FCE interest being the development of practical experiences for students and supporting WRC Gjakova with research projects focused on sustainable development needs.
The Faculty of Civil Engineering at the University of Prishtina, the Department of Hydrotechnics, Environmental Engineering, and WRC "Gjakova", Technical Department, ITUN, and ITUP, within the framework of this cooperation, will support each other based on their respective fields of activity. FCE students will conduct their professional-practical work at the Wastewater Treatment Plant in Gjakova. This collaboration will contribute to enhancing the professional capacities of students in line with labor market demands, through various training sessions and seminars that will professionally develop human resources within the sector, the development of the economic sector, and the application of the best methods and practices in the laboratories of this unit.
The agreement also designates its coordinators, Prof. Ass. Dr. Lavdim Osmanaj and Fjolla Lasku Hoti, who are tasked with overseeing the implementation of the agreement.
The agreement was signed by the Dean of FCE, Prof. Ass. Dr. Florim Grajcevci, and the Chief Executive Officer of WRC Gjakova, Hasan Krasniqi.
