On January 31, 2024, Minister Liburn Aliu from MESPI (Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning, and Infrastructure) visited the Faculty of Civil Engineering. The meeting had a working nature, focusing on areas of interest for concrete collaboration opportunities and engagement of the academic staff and the FCE Institute. The development needs related to various issues, considered a priority for the country and its institutions, were presented. The opportunities for the Institute of the Faculty of Civil Engineering to be involved in research, analysis, and the preparation of numerous studies are now real. Some of the priorities with mutual interest were highlighted:
- Initiating the creation of a framework for drafting national building codes.
- Institutional collaboration regarding the functioning of the Chamber of Engineers.
- Involving students in practical work at MESPI.
- Involving FCE Institut and supporting MESPI in assessments, analyses, and monitoring of public interest works and projects
During the visit to the FCE facilities, Minister Aliu also visit the Faculty's laboratories, where the capacities built in our HEI were appreciated.
