Mission and Vision

The Mission of the Faculty of Civil Engineering is aligned with the Mission of the University of Prishtina. In fulfilling its mission, the Faculty operates in accordance with the Statute of the University of Prishtina, other applicable legal and normative acts, as well as its internal regulations.

The mission of the Faculty is to provide education and training through the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and values, and to ensure the scientific and professional preparation of qualified personnel in the field of Civil Engineering. This preparation aims to support further academic and research advancement, as well as successful integration into the national and international labor market.

In fulfilling its mission as an academic unit of the University of Prishtina, the Faculty engages its management, academic staff, administrative personnel, and students, ensuring appropriate learning environments and conditions that enable students to achieve the competencies defined by the study programs, in full compliance with the principles and standards of the European Higher Education Area.

In harmony with the mission of the University of Prishtina, the Faculty of Civil Engineering aims to:

-          Act as a leading center of knowledge and engineering expertise in Kosovo, by delivering high-quality teaching, advanced scientific research, and professional expertise to public institutions, the private sector, and society. Through its academic staff and cooperation with industry and international partners, the Faculty contributes to the development of contemporary engineering solutions and to raising professional standards in construction, infrastructure, and sustainable development.

-          Contribute to the economic, infrastructural, and social development of the country through the preparation of professional staff, the development of scientific research, the provision of engineering expertise, and close cooperation with public institutions, the private sector, and industry, supporting strategic projects and sustainable national development.

-          Promote high academic, professional, and ethical standards by ensuring quality in teaching and scientific research, respecting academic integrity, professional responsibility, and fostering engineers with strong competencies, ethical awareness, and social responsibility.

-          Develop and support scientific research, innovation, and knowledge transfer by encouraging research projects, interdisciplinary cooperation, active involvement of academic staff and students, and the practical application of scientific results in service of industry and society.

-          Strengthen cooperation with industry, public institutions, and the private sector through strategic partnerships, joint projects, student professional practice, and the provision of engineering expertise, aiming to align education and research with real economic and societal needs.

-          Enhance internationalization through academic partnerships, mobility, and international projects, ensuring the exchange of knowledge, experience, and best European and global practices.

In response to current challenges and the growing demands of the labor market, the Faculty of Civil Engineering has developed and is implementing strategic development plans, including scientific research strategies, which aim to:

-          Improve the quality of teaching and learning outcomes;

-          Advance scientific research and innovation;

-          Strengthen laboratory capacities and infrastructure;

-          Enhance the internationalization of study programs and academic staff; and

-          Support institutional development and improve academic governance.

The Faculty of Civil Engineering remains committed to full integration into the European Higher Education Area and the European Research Area, in line with the strategy of the University of Prishtina, by undertaking necessary reforms and striving for academic, scientific, and professional excellence.

The Faculty’s core fields of activity include academic development, teaching, scientific and applied research, supported by accredited study programs in Civil Engineering at the Bachelor and Master levels, in accordance with the Bologna Process.

The internationalization of the Faculty—through participation in international projects, cooperation with relevant institutions in research initiatives, scientific publications in reputable journals, international congresses and conferences, as well as staff and student mobility—remains a continuous institutional commitment.

The Faculty’s objectives align with the mission of the University through its study programs and academic activities, aiming to achieve the highest scientific and professional standards and to maintain leadership in the field of Civil Engineering.

Vision

The vision of the Faculty as a higher education institution is the continuous improvement of teaching and learning activities, ensuring the preparation of graduates capable of responding effectively to the evolving trends of scientific and engineering development.

Monitoring scientific achievements and global developments in Civil Engineering remains a primary responsibility of the academic staff, students, and the institution as a whole.
