IIWE – Institute of Innovation, Water and Environment

The mission of the Institute of Innovation, Water and Environment (IIWE), within the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Prishtina, is to develop and advance scientific and professional research in the fields of water resources management, environmental engineering, and innovation, as areas of strategic importance for academic, economic, and societal development.

The Institute aims to contribute to the creation and transfer of knowledge, the improvement of engineering practices, and the addressing of contemporary environmental challenges through the promotion of interdisciplinary research projects and collaboration with academic institutions, industry, and national and international organizations.

In accordance with applicable regulations, IIWE utilizes the academic, scientific, and laboratory infrastructure of the Faculty and the University of Prishtina, while also providing professional, consultancy, and research services to the public and private sectors, with the aim of increasing its impact on the sustainable and innovative development of the water and environmental sectors.

The vision of IIWE is to become an advanced research and professional center in the region, recognized for scientific excellence, innovation, and a direct contribution to the sustainable development of the water, environmental, and environmental infrastructure sectors.

IIUA aims to achieve the following objectives:

·         Development of high-quality scientific research in the fields of water, environment, and innovation;

·         Active participation in national and international projects (Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, etc.);

·         Strengthening cooperation with industry, public institutions, and environmental organizations;

·         Providing professional and consultancy services in water management and environmental protection;

·         Advancement of laboratory capacities and effective use of existing infrastructure;

·         Support for academic staff and students in research and professional development;

·         Promotion of innovation and sustainable solutions for environmental protection and natural resource management.

IIWE is a research unit of the Faculty of Civil Engineering that aims to develop scientific and professional research in the fields of water, environment, and innovation, contributing to technological advancement, international cooperation, and sustainable development.

The main objective of IIWE is to develop scientific and professional research in fields of strategic importance for the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Prishtina and society, as well as to promote interdisciplinary and innovative projects.

IIWE has the right to utilize the academic, scientific, and laboratory infrastructure of the Faculty and the University of Prishtina, in accordance with applicable regulations, and may provide consultancy and commercial services to the public and private sectors.
