ISMG – Institute of Structures, Materials and Geomechanics

The mission of the Institute of Structures, Materials and Geomechanics (ISMG), within the Faculty of Civil Engineering, University of Prishtina, is to develop and advance scientific and professional research in the fields of structural engineering, construction materials, and geomechanics, as areas of strategic importance for academic, economic, and societal development.

The Institute aims to contribute to the creation and transfer of knowledge, the improvement of engineering practices, and the addressing of contemporary challenges through the promotion of interdisciplinary research projects and collaboration with academic institutions, industry, and national and international organizations.

In accordance with applicable regulations, ISMG utilizes the academic, scientific, and laboratory infrastructure of the Faculty and the University of Prishtina, while also providing professional, consultancy, and research services to the public and private sectors, with the aim of increasing its impact on the sustainable and innovative development of the construction sector.

The vision of ISMG is to become an advanced research and professional center in the region, recognized for scientific excellence, innovation in engineering, and a direct contribution to the sustainable development of the construction and infrastructure sector.

ISMG aims to achieve the following objectives:

·         Development of high-quality scientific research in the fields of structural engineering, construction materials, and geomechanics;

·         Active participation in national and international projects (Horizon Europe, Erasmus+, etc.);

·         Strengthening cooperation with industry and public institutions;

·         Providing professional and consultancy services for the construction sector;

·         Advancement of laboratory capacities and effective use of existing infrastructure;

·         Support for academic staff and students in research and professional development;

·         Promotion of innovation and sustainable solutions in construction and infrastructure.

ISMG is a research unit of the Faculty of Civil Engineering that aims to develop scientific and professional research in the fields of structures, materials, and geomechanics, contributing to innovation, international cooperation, and the sustainable development of the construction sector.

The main objective of ISMG is to develop scientific and professional research in fields of strategic importance for the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the University of Prishtina and society, as well as to promote interdisciplinary and innovative projects.

ISMG has the right to utilize the academic, scientific, and laboratory infrastructure of the Faculty and the University of Prishtina, in accordance with the applicable regulations, and may provide consultancy and commercial services to the public and private sectors.
